As far as we know the Caltrans community meeting for the $33.2 million repaving of Highway 32 through central Chico is still going on today from 4:30 to 6pm in the parking lot of the Valley Contractors Exchange, 951 East 8th Street, near Alder Street.

Currently, there is no plan to add a safe path separate from traffic anywhere on the highway, and Walnut St will remain without even painted bike lanes.

There is also no plan to slow traffic, although it typically hits 50MPH through residential neighborhoods along 8th and 9th Streets, making them unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists.

If you can't make the meeting feedback can still be sent in to But-32.Chico.Rehab.Project@dot.ca.gov

More details of the meeting here.
