✔️ Lawsuit continues after city violated the civil rights of people on the streets - despite being warned that evicting people in the middle of winter with no access to shelter was cruel and illegal.

✔️ Scott Huber forced out of a job and then out of office by Citizens for a Safe Chico flying monkeys and not one of the 4 councilmembers supported by them has yet said a word about it…

Only 42.5% of us in Butte County have had at least one dose of the vaccine, and only 37.8% are fully vaccinated. That’s not far above Alabama’s vaccination rate, which is the worst in the country at 33.7%, and where doctors are having to tell dying patients, “I’m sorry, but it’s too late…”

Chico makes national news again...this time for a positive response to hate.

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐲 - 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐛 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 needs your letters, as he prepares to obstruct solutions and bolster his bank account by suing the city...yet again. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰!

(Remember when he sued to stop Simplicity Village, ensuring that 60+ elderly people would remain on the streets for the past 3 years? Or when he tried to extort a a $110k reward for it from the city? [*he might have gotten that $110k, city hasn't made it public] And now he complains about the number of homeless people? Yeah, that's the guy)…

When the city council rounded up and evicted people from camps in the dead of winter, when not one Chico shelter was accepting new clients, they were warned repeatedly that it was illegal, not to mention cruel and immoral. Those actions led directly to the latest costly lawsuit, and yet it appears they have still learned nothing..

Chico City Attorney Vince Ewing, asked by Judge England to “define shelter” said, “shelter is a practically-available space for persons who are unhoused to go on a given day that would enable a city … to enforce its anticamping, sit/lie, and so forth ordinances.’ …

“Because the ordinances passed by the City Council subject individuals to criminal penalties for “living outdoors” anywhere in the City, the result is that homeless individuals are subject to criminal prosecution no matter where they go within the jurisdiction…”

Jason also talks about the the process he used to investigate the allegations that now-former councilmember Kami Denlay has not lived in Chico since December. Oh, the irony. After the same PAC that got Denlay elected harassed Former Chico City Councilmember Scott Huber about a summer job until he was forced to resign both the job and his position, it appears their candidate hasn't lived in Chico since days after being sworn in.

The Chico News & Review has uncovered significant evidence that Kami and her family decamped from Chico back in December. Pictures shared on social media show the family celebrating Christmas in their Red Bluff home.

Let's start with the obvious.

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬.

6 picnic tables. Exposed asphalt 6 miles from town. No way to store property securely. No way to clean yourself or your clothing. In the middle of a fire danger zone.

Up to 571 people can be confined here - and that is the intention of the city. It looks like an internment camp because that's what it is.
